What Should I Keep Out on Moving Day in Glendale, CA? Pack First Aid Kit, Chargers & More in Car

Moving can be a very stressful time. From the moment you set the move in motion until the minute the last box is unpacked. There are many elements to making the move a success. Among the many aspects of a move, the move is made easier when you have several things available. Extra moving supplies including box cutter, boxes, sharpies, tape, and labels are all essential. Today, we at Prodigy Moving & Storage would like to discuss the essentials you should keep out.

First Aid Kit

For you or your family, it is always a good idea to have Band-Aids on hand. Paper cuts and other minor needs are common enough you need to be prepared. Make sure your first aid kit is well stocked with OVC pain killers, allergy medications, splints, medical tapes, alcohol wipes, peroxide, gauze, band aids, cotton balls, cotton swabs, and other such medical supplies. Make sure routine medications are included for easy access and they do not mixed up in your packing.

Small Toolbox

Basics like a hammer, screwdriver and pliers are ideal, along with a measuring tape and other such small tools. Scissors to open all those boxes on your way to your new home or packaged supplies you may have bought can also be useful.

Napkins, Utensils & Paper Towels

It doesn’t hurt to have some extra utensils on hand, though you may end of getting take-out food on your first day at your new home. Have some extra plastic forks and knives to use during your first couple days as you are not always able to unpack right away.

Toiletries & Toilet Paper

Make sure to have some toilet paper handy to put in your new house. Soap, towels, shampoo, and other personal hygiene items unpacked first, to keep your first night at your new home is the most comfortable. Make sure this box is properly labeled and when you are traveling, make sure they are with you.

Garbage Bags

Before your leave, moving can get messy and you might have last minute junk you want to throw out. Trash bags can be ideal as you are likely to find quite a bit of trash as you are clearing out the contents of the old home.

Mobile Device Chargers

Phones, tablets, and laptops all need their chargers and keeping them centrally located and together can prevent them from being misplaced or lost in general.

Entertainment

Books, board games, movies, and music are all mean of entertainment, and especially if you have little ones that need to be kept busy. Having these readily available is in your better interest.

Beverages & Snacks

Don’t pack away all your granola bars and fruit snacks in a box before you since moving day is bound to make you hungry. Make sure these snacks are included in the car as you drive to your new home and leftovers can be easily put away.
